By joining the furfragged.com community, you agree to adhere to mature and legal posting guidelines.
1. Posting Behavior
We expect a certain level of maturity in member posting as to not detract from the community. Rules that pertain to general posting and maturity include:
- No Flaming or Trolling - What is flaming? Basically it's insulting some one with the intention of starting drama. Easiest way to avoid this is if you don't have anything decent to say then don't bother posting. If you come onto the forums with the sole intention of just purposely being a dick, we don't want you here. Anyone who tries to troll back will be punished with up to the same punishment as said troll, so if some one is trolling it is best to simply ignore their post until they are dealt with.
- Outside disputes - If you know some one on the forum in real life or from another community, please leave any disputes you may have with them behind. If for example, he stole your girlfriend, the message board doesn't want to hear about it.
- Don't be retarded - Sorry to be blunt, but seriously, spell as best you can, and use decent grammar. Substituting a 2 for too is never a good thing. The occasional spelling mistake is fine, but spelling every other word wrong, and using shortened typing as though you're IMing or texting is unacceptable. Also under this ruling, please do your best to use logic and deductive reasoning; no one likes people who ask why at every turn.
- No advertising - It's fine if you post sources and IPs for your favorite servers, but don't blatantly say "Hey guys, you should totally come over to this site/server." Note to spammers who post their advertisements on message boards aimlessly, your accounts will be deleted, and your IPs will be banned and logged.
- Via personal request - If anyone on the staff requests that you cease a specific behavior, it is recommended that you follow along. This probably will rarely ever come up though
2. Legal Matters
Let's face it, no matter where you are in the world, there's always issues of defamation, copyright, and laws about explicit content. So here are a few ground rules pertaining to these matters:
- No browser bombs, trojans, etc. - We are trying to have a safe experience posting and sharing on the community, don't ruin it for everyone by getting them infected or making their browser crash.
- No illegal content - This is not The Pirate Bay, don't post links to downloads of illegally obtained and/or cracked software/games. We're here to share content, not software.
- Nothing NSFW - As much as I want to permit it, please do not use this message board for sharing sexual content. May I suggest furpiled, e621, and fchan for these purposes.
3. Outside the Community
By being a member of this community, you represent us on any other sites you go. We don't expect much but the following:
- Don't talk behind people's back - Please don't use our message board to talk about some one or some place you don't like. We honestly probably don't care and it breaks the Outside Disputes rule as well.
- Don't be a traitor - If some one is breaking the rule above, (more importantly if it's pertaining to a community or a group) please don't tell the person(s) in question as we do not wish to deal with further drama nor a forum war.
4. Punishment
If you are in clear violation of these rules, you will be met with the following possible actions
- Loss of avatar privileges
- Loss of signature privileges
- Loss of access to specific forums
In addition to privilege loss, each violation is met with a suspension, if you violate the rules again within a certain timeframe from the previous suspension, you will be suspended for an increased amount of time. These increments are 24 hours, 2 days, 4 days, 1 week, 2 weeks, 1 month, 3 months, 6 months, 1 year. Some rule violations may result in a decreased amount of time from these, on the same note, multiple violations in one go will result in an increased punishment, and may even call for a perma-ban.
It is also recommended that as a member, you can be a good citizen by ignoring or in rare cases calling out the posts of people who are breaking these rules. Not just trolling, but also flaming. In the cases of legal matters, call them out most definitely.
5. Final Note
All staff members make decisions at their own discretion. If some one opts to be more strict on the rules than others, that's their business. Only when they start abusing powers will they be punished for "doing their job."
